What's new at D3HUB?

Over the past few months, D3HUB has been in full swing—collaborating with tourism destinations, launching pilots, shaping new indicators, and presenting our work on some of Europe’s biggest stages.

From Florence to Brussels, Madrid to Milan, our team and partners have been busy laying the foundations for smarter, more sustainable tourism across Europe.

Events & Milestones

  • D3HUB Takes the Spotlight on Tourism Indicators
On 2 April, Ana Moniche Bermejo (Turismo Andaluz) presented D3HUB at the “Tourism Indicators: State of the Art and Future” webinar. She showcased how our sustainability indicators can empower destinations to make informed decisions rooted in data and impact.
  • Sustainability in the Spotlight
On 8 April, Dolores Ordóñez (AnySolution) moderated the session 'Sustainable EU Tourism Talk: The Road Ahead', part of the #EUTourism Workshop, advocating for collaborative approaches in reshaping the tourism landscape.
  • Smart Destination Day 2025 - Florence
We proudly joined European thought leaders at Smart Destination Day, presenting D3HUB’s contributions to digital transformation and sustainability for future-ready destinations.
  • Cross-Cluster Session & Pilot Update
In a key milestone, we hosted our first cross-cluster session, bringing together 40+ pilot destinations, project partners, and EISMEA. Insights included:
- Core sustainability indicators
- Dashboard progress & frontrunner destinations
- Engaging dialogue to address common data challenges

  • D3HUB at the NECSTouR Annual General Meeting - Milan
In May, we took centre stage at the NECSTouR AGM to present our vision for a future-proof Competence Centre in European tourism.
  • A Rollercoaster of Insights in Brussels
At the T4T Stakeholders Event and the “Unbalanced Tourism” Workshop, our coordinator Dolores Ordóñez co-led the EU Task Force on rebalancing tourism through smarter, data-driven governance.
  • Highlights from the 1st Meeting of Tourism Statistics Producers & Users- Madrid
On 9-10 June, D3HUB contributed to two crucial discussions:
-Measuring sustainable tourism: Andalusia's alignment with EU & UN goals
-Data infrastructures & interoperability: A compelling session by Dolores Ordóñez on the role of D3HUB.

Publications

New Publication Published!
“Prepared for the Smart Future? Data Literacy & Needs of European DMOs”
Published in ENTER 2025 Proceedings, this study based on 220+ DMO responses reveals a critical need for:
→ Limited capacity for data use and implementation
→ High demand for support and skills
→ Urgent need to strengthen readiness for data-driven tourism
