Service Portfolio

The D3HUB Competence Centre aims to provide support to European Destination Management Organisations throughout the entire journey towards data-driven destination management, helping destinations in understanding current and future challenges, identifying potential data sources, statistics and tools, providing expertise in data collection and calculation, developing insights through analysis and interpretation, offer actionable advise on using data for destination management and supporting the wider tourism ecosystem. All services are aimed towards providing training and capacity building.

The Competence Centre adopts a variety of personal and non-personal training approaches to support DMOs in their data-related knowledge needs:

Webinars

Webinars are delivered by experts on particular topics and/or methodologies, combining best practices with novel tools and methods for data collection and interpretation.

Peer-to-peer learning activities

Destinations are linked with peers, based on shared needs and challenges, in larger online networking events to facilitate co-creative solutions.

One-on-one mentoring and consultation

One-on-one (online) consultation and mentoring services help identify local contexts, needs, and opportunities, develop action plans, and design tailor-made trainings.

Digital tools

Dashboards and data links with the European and local tourism ecosystem are provided to efficiently convey longitudinal and regional data, allow for comparisons, and provide context to build further insights on.

Documentation of best practices

Best practices in data-driven destination management highlight achievements of exemplary destinations and can provide inspiration for others.

In the first stage, the Competence Centre has identified a limited number of pertinent topics that will form the topical core of the training activities, namely:

  • Managing the balance between residents and visitors
  • Redistributing tourist flows in space and time
  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation
  • Supporting emerging destinations to attract quality and sustainable tourism
