BOARDS

Statistics and Research Board

Composed by the Official Statistical bodies that are associated partners or have signed letters of support for D3HUB and other European and internationally recognised research bodies with whom our consortium partners are in regular contact (such as Eurostat, the E.U. Joint Research Centre, the UNWTO Statistical Department, the OECD). The purpose is to integrate the European Statistical System and other public bodies generating data into the consortia to promote the E.U. approach’s consistency. The role of this board is to support D3HUB in the following ways:

  • Identifying the official data available for tourism and any other aspect necessary for monitoring tourism competitiveness and the economic, social and environmental dimensions of tourism sustainability.
  • To advise on the methodology for the integration of complementary data.
  • To provide capacity building in “data literacy” to the involved destinations.
  • To participate in exchange of views between data users and data producers and receive feedback on the need for new development in official statistics from the destinations.

DMOs and Ecosystem Board

This board is composed by umbrella organisations, networks and hubs, supporting D3HUB in extending the destination ecosystem and multiplying the beneficiaries and reach out of the competence centre. The Destinations’ committee/advisory board has two specific objectives:

  • Engage DMOs from the three levels of governance – national-regional-local – and SMES of the tourism value chain throughout Europe (geographically), to test the competence centre support scheme, bringing their data needs, experimenting with data, reporting on results against expectations, report on decisions/policy taken thanks to data, suggestions for improvement, assess if a stronger involvement in the future is an option to become users of the centre so as to guarantee its continuity.
  • Provide guidance throughout different work packages: Call specifications, selection criteria, campaign for recruitment, selection process (levels of destinations in data management), evaluation of the testing phase, business model, service portfolio, etc.

This board will include also further destinations, including those not involved in the pilot scheme
